Peter E. Mikedis brings an extensive background in food and service management in Corporate, Senior, Childcare and K -12 Dining. Most recently Peter held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the largest provider of “Meals on Wheels” in the Boston area, overseeing daily operations — customer service, production, purchasing, quality control, packaging, and delivery of over 1.5 million meals per year to charter schools, child care facilities, state and social agencies, and elderly clients.

As founder, Peter has spearheaded the development of Sidekim Foods from concept to implementation, bringing with him years of experience and leadership in the industry. Peter has held senior level positions with two major corporate dining firms throughout New England. Peter began his career studying culinary arts for 3 years and has honed his skills in various high profile restaurants along the North Shore and in Boston.

Kurt Stegenga, Logistics Manager
Kurt Stegenga comes to Sidekim Foods with a wide range of experience both in and out of the food industry. Kurt has been an entrepreneur in the furniture business, a political staffer on Beacon Hill, a trucking manager, a medical systems warehouser as well as a manager in the meals on wheels industry. With his years of experience, his undeniable business savvy, and his entrepreneurial attitude, Kurt has the capabilities to help Sidekim Foods provide exceptional food and service to any and all clients.

Nicholas Thomadis, Production Manager
Nicholas Thomadis joins Sidekim Foods with over 25 years of culinary experience. Nick started his training in Greece, employed as a private chef to the captain of a freight liner, travelling the ports of Europe, Russia and the United States. Along the way, Nick experimented with new cuisines and ingredients, constantly devising new dishes and exciting combinations of flavors. After moving to the U.S., Nick put his considerable skills to work as the owner of a highly successful family pizzeria for 13 years.

Julie Garvin, RD/LDN, Director of Healthy Eating and Wellness
Julie holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management with focus on Exercise Science from UMass, Amherst. Shortly after graduating, Julie became an ACE certified personal trainer working with pre-teens to seniors. Realizing that exercise was only one part of the wellness equation, she went back to school and received her Masters degree in Science in food and Nutrition from Framinham State College. As an RD her goal is to educate people of all ages on nutrition, exercise and wellness. She has worked in hospital, daycare and public school programs. Julie shares our passion for food and the philosophy that everyone should have a great meal!

Marvin Kane, Webmaster
Marvin Kane comes to Sidekim Foods having served as webmaster, web production manager and interactive consultant for a range of Fortune 1000 companies, such as National Cable Communications, Cyrk, The Gillette Company, Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments, Peterbilt Motors, Accenture, T-Mobile and Caterpillar. His achievements include vastly increased employee participation in corporate activities with the innovative use of intranets and a revolution in corporate public relations through the use of online media materials, just to name a couple.
